Thanksgiving

Image
Well, since I am just now blogging about it 2 months later....I can only post what I remember. It was very warm that day. We had lunch at Corrie & John Lucius' house. The kids stripped after lunch and ran around in underwear! That night we had dinner at my parents house, but I have no pictures of that. We left pretty early so we could prepare for our shopping day! It's one of my favorite times with my mom and sister! Here are some more pictures we took around Thanksgiving while it was warm outside! Jax is a little obsessed with Indiana Jones. He loves loves loves to dress up like Indiana Jones. He talked his Daddy into making him an Indiana Jones beard. It's really cute though. He'll come in from school, and become Dr. Jones. Then he walks around until you notice. Of course, once he gets started using the whip, it's not nearly as cute.

Adam

It is hard to find the words to write this post. But Adam is gone. It was Sunday morning. I was on the treadmill exercising when Chrissi called. She asked me what I was doing and then said I'll call you back. A minute or so later, my dad called. He said, "Amanda, something has happened. I need you to come and get Jax and Ronin." I don't remember the rest of the conversation because it is all a blur but Adam had taken his own life. I think I remember screaming. I think I said something to John. And then I ran out of the house screaming. Linda Faye was standing there waiting for me. Standing beside her vehicle. Waiting. Because she already knew. I remember screaming something on the phone to Chrissi to meet me at my mom's house and take my kids. I remember she and Wendy took care of them. I felt like I was going to throw up all the way to Grenada. Maybe I did. It's all blur. A blur that came to a resounding but brutal clarity while sitting at the dining room tab...

Haunted Hillcrest

I don't think there are many who really understand the work that goes into something like this. John is so talented and creative. He has created another excellent haunted event at our church. His boys are so very proud of their dad and what he accomplished. We had a HUGE turnout...so many people to come to our event. Here is the film that he made for people to view before walking through... Here are a few pictures of my Trunk or Treat trunk, and one of John and Niko ready for the trail.
