Like Father, Like Son


Well, it looks as if John found someone who loves his television just as much as he does. Jax noticed the TV for the first time yesterday! Those of you that have seen our tv probably realize that it would be hard for him not to notice it. Here's a picture of him when he can't take his eyes off the television.


Jax had his first trip to the zoo this weekend. It was so hot & crowded, but we had fun. John, Jax, and I went with John's niece (Alexa), nephew (Eli), and his mother (Candace). Jax stayed in his stroller most of the time we were there. It was funny to see all of the strollers at the zoo - I never paid attention before - but now I recognize all of them by their brand name from trying to decide which one to buy myself. I remember I did the same thing after I got married with noticing china. Before registering myself, I never paid any attention to people's china and everyday dishes. Jax LOVES his new sling. Here we are headed out to church - it's perfect for us since we just walk across the street.

Now most people may be shocked that Jax loves to watch the big TV with his Daddy, I am not. I knew it would just be a matter of months before John sold him on the idea of watching TV and getting to spend time with Daddy. Next will be watching the Movie Collection! Also, I love the zoo pictures! I think we may get a membership next year when Tatum gets a little older. I can't believe how grown up Jax looks in his little white shirt and jeans. Keep the pictures coming, I love to see them.

Hey Amanda! I'm one of John's friends from work! I love your blog. It's great to see Jax since John never brings any pictures to the office! The TV thing is no shock...now let's see when he starts quoting all the movies with his daddy!

For a school pumpkin parade project, Jax has to come up with a character from a book that he enjoys reading. Then we had to decorate the pumpkin like that character. I made a couple of suggestions (Pete the Cat, Captain Flynn and the Pirate Dinosaurs), which Jax immediately shot down. He picked a book from our bookcase about ghosts of Mississippi which I immediately shot  down. I told him that he must pick a book that he actually reads. Banana Bedhead....

I'm sure that Paul Mitchell would be very interested in this new hairstyle that Jax modeled last night. I've known for quite some time that Jax is pretty smart. Now I think that it's obvious that he will also be very fashion savvy. After eating his entire bowl of Spaghetti-o ravioli, I cut up some bananas for him to eat. By the way, we've mastered this new way of eating...2 forks!! While he's feeding himself with one, I'm getting the other fork loaded up with the next bite. He would get a little stingy and refuse (okay, throw a fit) to hand back the fork. So problem solved = 2 forks!! Anyway, he gets pretty sticky when eating bananas because they obviously don't slide on the fork too well. So he uses his fingers. Naturally, the perfect place to wipe your hands when you don't have a shirt is in your hair. Plus fruit is good for you, so it must be good for your hair. Jax's 3 1/2 year old birthday party

Yes, we love half birthdays! When you have a birthday too close to Christmas, it is so fun to celebrate a half birthday in the summer. Besides that, Lisa died the day before his birthday. Not an easy time for our family. My mom did this with me too...since I was a December baby..I sometimes had half birthday celebrations instead. Jax was very specific about his requests...he wanted a Rocky party...with Rocky and the Russian fighting on top of the cake. However, there was not enough room for both. Megan Lucius made the cake! I made the cookies...Lightning Bolt cookies..."When you eat lightning..." We had a poster printed up for a game...prizes were awarded based on which person caused the water balloon to break. It started storming in the middle of the party...all the kids came in for ice cream and cake. They watched Toy Story 2.(June 13, 2010)
