No More Tummy Time!!!

Well, Jax has always HATED tummy time. I've never been able to keep him on his tummy for more than a minute or two before he started screaming and burying his face in the blanket. Sunday he figure out how to put an end to tummy time. While we were at my parent's house, he rolled over for the first time. Since then, he's been doing it non-stop. He stays on his tummy for about 10 seconds, and then flips right over. So, the recommended 20 minutes of tummy time never happened anyway but now we aren't even going to squeeze a few minutes out of him. But, he can hold his head up just fine anyway. Here's a little video of him escaping the torture of tummy time.


JUMPEROO JAX
Jax is officially jumping in his jumperoo now. I made a little video to put on here, but it was pretty uneventful as he was very focused on the tv trays for some reason. But here a few pics of him: one when he was enjoying it, and then one when he was ready to get out.



Jax also watched his first UFC match this weekend with Kelly & Jason Koonce, Cory, Kathryn, and Wes Crawley. I know Jax enjoyed all of the attention.

I think he will take after his Daddy in cheering on the under-dog!



Last Wednesday (4/18), we took Jax to have 3 month pictures made at Special Daze. They were the naked baby pictures. He was without a diaper for 2 hours. Of course, he tinkled twice on the "set." The photographer assured us that they were used to that, and tee tee was certainly not the worst that they had seen. I was proud of him, but I'm not sure we got him to smile in any pictures. He mostly wanted to keep one or sometimes both fists in his mouth. We should get them back next week!!

Here is Jax napping with Daddy. If he's not swaddled, he really has to hold something to fall asleep. Unfortunately, it is usually my hair. On John, he either hold his hand or the neck of his shirt.

Jax is just growing and progressing so fast! He looks like such a sweet baby and I know you guys are enjoying every moment. We need to get Jax and Tatum together sometime later in the summer and see how they react to one another!

For a school pumpkin parade project, Jax has to come up with a character from a book that he enjoys reading. Then we had to decorate the pumpkin like that character. I made a couple of suggestions (Pete the Cat, Captain Flynn and the Pirate Dinosaurs), which Jax immediately shot down. He picked a book from our bookcase about ghosts of Mississippi which I immediately shot  down. I told him that he must pick a book that he actually reads. About 30 minutes later, Jax walked into the kitchen announced his new selection: "I have picked The Bible, and I want my pumpkin to be Jesus." Well, how do you argue with that request?? Banana Bedhead....

I'm sure that Paul Mitchell would be very interested in this new hairstyle that Jax modeled last night. I've known for quite some time that Jax is pretty smart. Now I think that it's obvious that he will also be very fashion savvy. After eating his entire bowl of Spaghetti-o ravioli, I cut up some bananas for him to eat. By the way, we've mastered this new way of eating...2 forks!! While he's feeding himself with one, I'm getting the other fork loaded up with the next bite. He would get a little stingy and refuse (okay, throw a fit) to hand back the fork. So problem solved = 2 forks!! Anyway, he gets pretty sticky when eating bananas because they obviously don't slide on the fork too well. So he uses his fingers. Naturally, the perfect place to wipe your hands when you don't have a shirt is in your hair. Plus fruit is good for you, so it must be good for your hair. Jax's 3 1/2 year old birthday party

Yes, we love half birthdays! When you have a birthday too close to Christmas, it is so fun to celebrate a half birthday in the summer. Besides that, Lisa died the day before his birthday. Not an easy time for our family. My mom did this with me too...since I was a December baby..I sometimes had half birthday celebrations instead. Jax was very specific about his requests...he wanted a Rocky party...with Rocky and the Russian fighting on top of the cake. However, there was not enough room for both. Megan Lucius made the cake! I made the cookies...Lightning Bolt cookies..."When you eat lightning..." We had a poster printed up for a game...prizes were awarded based on which person caused the water balloon to break. It started storming in the middle of the party...all the kids came in for ice cream and cake. They watched Toy Story 2.(June 13, 2010)
