7 Months!

Jax turned 7 months on Thursday the 9th!! Some of his new skills are:


  • walking while holding on to the furniture

  • falling with grace (sometimes)

  • letting go of the furniture to stand by himself (falls after about 5 seconds)

  • pulling up on everything

  • wanting to eat everything we eat

  • eyes are getting darker and hair is getting lighter

  • playing peek-a-boo



He loves playing Peek-a-boo!!







Jax stayed with my parents on Saturday night while John & I celebrated our 5th anniversary (I'll post pics of that tomorrow). My mom took some great pictures of him that aren't blue this time, so I'll have to get those from her.

Awww...happy 7 months Jax!! He is really going to be walking before you know it!! You know what they say about a baby that walks early don't you???(well my mom says it anyway...) She says that it means there is going to be another on the way soon.lol...Don't you just LOVE it when people say things like that!?!?! Also, the last pic with John and Jax is an interesting one...I am almost 100% that "wearing the baby in a backpack" is one of the things that John said he would NEVER do before Jax was born.lol Amanda, you guys have a precious and handsome little man on your hands. I can't wait to see him again one day.

Moses the Pumpkin

For a school pumpkin parade project, Jax has to come up with a character from a book that he enjoys reading. Then we had to decorate the pumpkin like that character. I made a couple of suggestions (Pete the Cat, Captain Flynn and the Pirate Dinosaurs), which Jax immediately shot down. He picked a book from our bookcase about ghosts of Mississippi which I immediately shot  down. I told him that he must pick a book that he actually reads. About 30 minutes later, Jax walked into the kitchen announced his new selection: "I have picked The Bible, and I want my pumpkin to be Jesus." Well, how do you argue with that request?? However, I could not imagine how in the world we could accomplish such a thing. John and Jax took off to Walmart to look for some Jesus hair. Banana Bedhead....

I'm sure that Paul Mitchell would be very interested in this new hairstyle that Jax modeled last night. I've known for quite some time that Jax is pretty smart. Now I think that it's obvious that he will also be very fashion savvy. After eating his entire bowl of Spaghetti-o ravioli, I cut up some bananas for him to eat. By the way, we've mastered this new way of eating...2 forks!! While he's feeding himself with one, I'm getting the other fork loaded up with the next bite. He would get a little stingy and refuse (okay, throw a fit) to hand back the fork. So problem solved = 2 forks!! Anyway, he gets pretty sticky when eating bananas because they obviously don't slide on the fork too well. So he uses his fingers. Naturally, the perfect place to wipe your hands when you don't have a shirt is in your hair. Plus fruit is good for you, so it must be good for your hair. Jax's 3 1/2 year old birthday party

Yes, we love half birthdays! When you have a birthday too close to Christmas, it is so fun to celebrate a half birthday in the summer. Besides that, Lisa died the day before his birthday. Not an easy time for our family. My mom did this with me too...since I was a December baby..I sometimes had half birthday celebrations instead. Jax was very specific about his requests...he wanted a Rocky party...with Rocky and the Russian fighting on top of the cake. However, there was not enough room for both. Megan Lucius made the cake! I made the cookies...Lightning Bolt cookies..."When you eat lightning..." We had a poster printed up for a game...prizes were awarded based on which person caused the water balloon to break. It started storming in the middle of the party...all the kids came in for ice cream and cake. They watched Toy Story 2.(June 13, 2010)
