Getting hammered . . .

Jax loves his hammer. He carries it around with him everywhere.

We do not love it as much since we often get "hammered" in the head or on the face, or any where else on our body that looks like a good place to hammer. We sometimes take it with us to church, since it will keep him occupied for a while. Ironically, John has graciously gotten "hammered" (by Jax, of course) a few times at church just to keep the peace.

Crawling under the jumperoo

I'm very excited to say that my camera did come in yesterday! They were able to repair it, and the best news is that it was still under warranty! If you ever need to know of an EXCELLENT place to mail your camera in for repair, let me know. The received it on the 14th, and fixed it on the 14th. Plus they had a status website where I could keep an eye on the process. Unfortunately, I didn't get home until late last night. Too late to take pictures, but I couldn't resist snapping a few this morning.

Jax woke up so happy this morning. I heard him talking around 5:30, but he talked himself back to sleep. He woke up again around 5:45, and John and I just stayed in the bed and watched him on the monitor. He was just talking and being sweet. I went and got him just before 6:00. We haven't had a "normal" night since Sunday this week. He's gotten to bed late every night b/c we've been out so much. With him, going to bed late means up earlier. Not sure why it works in reverse for him!!

Corrie is due ANY DAY now! We can hardly wait for Elle to arrive. It would be great if she would come this weekend. I think the doctor will be scheduling an induction if she's not here by Monday.



Skittem video: Jax loves to watch our dogs play. One thing I say to get them riled up is "skittem," so Jax gets really tickled when I say it because he knows they are about to run around and entertain him. This morning it was only Charlie, and she wasn't going to play "skittem" by herself. But Jax still thought it was funny:

Moses the Pumpkin

For a school pumpkin parade project, Jax has to come up with a character from a book that he enjoys reading. Then we had to decorate the pumpkin like that character. I made a couple of suggestions (Pete the Cat, Captain Flynn and the Pirate Dinosaurs), which Jax immediately shot down. He picked a book from our bookcase about ghosts of Mississippi which I immediately shot  down. I told him that he must pick a book that he actually reads. About 30 minutes later, Jax walked into the kitchen announced his new selection: "I have picked The Bible, and I want my pumpkin to be Jesus." Well, how do you argue with that request?? However, I could not imagine how in the world we could accomplish such a thing. John and Jax took off to Walmart to look for some Jesus hair. Banana Bedhead....

I'm sure that Paul Mitchell would be very interested in this new hairstyle that Jax modeled last night. I've known for quite some time that Jax is pretty smart. Now I think that it's obvious that he will also be very fashion savvy. After eating his entire bowl of Spaghetti-o ravioli, I cut up some bananas for him to eat. By the way, we've mastered this new way of eating...2 forks!! While he's feeding himself with one, I'm getting the other fork loaded up with the next bite. He would get a little stingy and refuse (okay, throw a fit) to hand back the fork. So problem solved = 2 forks!! Anyway, he gets pretty sticky when eating bananas because they obviously don't slide on the fork too well. So he uses his fingers. Naturally, the perfect place to wipe your hands when you don't have a shirt is in your hair. Plus fruit is good for you, so it must be good for your hair. Jax's 3 1/2 year old birthday party

Yes, we love half birthdays! When you have a birthday too close to Christmas, it is so fun to celebrate a half birthday in the summer. Besides that, Lisa died the day before his birthday. Not an easy time for our family. My mom did this with me too...since I was a December baby..I sometimes had half birthday celebrations instead. Jax was very specific about his requests...he wanted a Rocky party...with Rocky and the Russian fighting on top of the cake. However, there was not enough room for both. Megan Lucius made the cake! I made the cookies...Lightning Bolt cookies..."When you eat lightning..." We had a poster printed up for a game...prizes were awarded based on which person caused the water balloon to break. It started storming in the middle of the party...all the kids came in for ice cream and cake. They watched Toy Story 2.(June 13, 2010)
