9 Months!

Jax had his 9 month check up on Tuesday! He did great! It was almost a fun doctor's visit because he didn't need any vaccines. Unfortunately, Mommy made him get the flu shot. His new stats:
  • Weight: 19 lbs 6.5 oz 25-50%
  • Height: 28" 25-50%
  • HC: 46.5" 75%
9 Month Skills:
  • Drinking from a sippy cup (water & formula)
  • Eating with his hands
  • Eating what mommy and daddy eat (with the exception of a few high-risk allergy foods)
  • Walking or running (as some of you have pointed out)
  • Saying Mama, Dada, Bye-Bye, Hey
  • Waving (but not when we want him to)
  • Playing Pat-a-Cake (which we say as Patty cake!?)
  • Clapping
  • Singing in church with us
  • Still likes the walker, jumperoo, and pack-n-play
  • Sleeping 10 to 12 hours a night
  • Can't sleep without his cuddle buddy "Peep"
  • still just 6 teeth
  • Loves watching our animals play

I paid less here than I did for his 3 month pictures, and I hardly bought any of those!I got lots of these. It was really hard to pick! I had a really cute fall outfit for him to wear, and a summer outfit. I know it is Fall, but it was 90 degrees outside that day!!! My baby was burning up in that sweater!


Keep in mind, they did the black oval vinette around these pictures so you did not see my hand in them when they were printed.

Aww, his pictures turned out so good! I am glad you tried out Portrait Innovations! We love to go there and I tell everyone about them. Not only do you get great pictures, but they are very affordable. have you started planning the 1st birthday party yet?? it's only 3 months away!

Moses the Pumpkin

For a school pumpkin parade project, Jax has to come up with a character from a book that he enjoys reading. Then we had to decorate the pumpkin like that character. I made a couple of suggestions (Pete the Cat, Captain Flynn and the Pirate Dinosaurs), which Jax immediately shot down. He picked a book from our bookcase about ghosts of Mississippi which I immediately shot  down. I told him that he must pick a book that he actually reads. Banana Bedhead....

I'm sure that Paul Mitchell would be very interested in this new hairstyle that Jax modeled last night. I've known for quite some time that Jax is pretty smart. Now I think that it's obvious that he will also be very fashion savvy. After eating his entire bowl of Spaghetti-o ravioli, I cut up some bananas for him to eat. By the way, we've mastered this new way of eating...2 forks!! While he's feeding himself with one, I'm getting the other fork loaded up with the next bite. He would get a little stingy and refuse (okay, throw a fit) to hand back the fork. So problem solved = 2 forks!! Anyway, he gets pretty sticky when eating bananas because they obviously don't slide on the fork too well. So he uses his fingers. Naturally, the perfect place to wipe your hands when you don't have a shirt is in your hair. Plus fruit is good for you, so it must be good for your hair. Jax's 3 1/2 year old birthday party

Yes, we love half birthdays! When you have a birthday too close to Christmas, it is so fun to celebrate a half birthday in the summer. Besides that, Lisa died the day before his birthday. Not an easy time for our family. My mom did this with me too...since I was a December baby..I sometimes had half birthday celebrations instead. Jax was very specific about his requests...he wanted a Rocky party...with Rocky and the Russian fighting on top of the cake. However, there was not enough room for both. Megan Lucius made the cake! I made the cookies...Lightning Bolt cookies..."When you eat lightning..." We had a poster printed up for a game...prizes were awarded based on which person caused the water balloon to break. It started storming in the middle of the party...all the kids came in for ice cream and cake. They watched Toy Story 2.(June 13, 2010)
