Jax-o'-lantern

Jax didn't go trick-or-treating this year. He did get dressed up though. His Sasa and Grandaddy brought him some treats instead! He got a Noah's Ark book, some Gerber cereal puffs, and some PediaLite cereal bars. He was so excited!!! Seriously, he got really hyper and acted so silly. He was such a cute pumpkin!









Riley and Ethan were our only trick-or-treaters! Jax thought they had really scary costumes and stared at them a lot!!





Sunday, we all went to the zoo to celebrate my mom's birthday! We had a modified picnic (we ate in the car), and went to church with her too. We had a great time! Jax' favorite thing at the zoo was watching the panda eat, and eating snowcones!! He was so smart, because he realized after seeing the panda that everywhere we stopped, he was supposed to see something. So he would look for it. He had a great time, and I think he'll look forward to Sasa's birthday next year too!

I was wondering what you guys did on Halloween. Jax looks so cute in his pumpkin outfit. Love all the zoo pics. Did John not make the trip to the zoo with you guys? Also, tell you sister to update her blogpage because I am offically stalking her page now.

Moses the Pumpkin

For a school pumpkin parade project, Jax has to come up with a character from a book that he enjoys reading. Then we had to decorate the pumpkin like that character. I made a couple of suggestions (Pete the Cat, Captain Flynn and the Pirate Dinosaurs), which Jax immediately shot down. He picked a book from our bookcase about ghosts of Mississippi which I immediately shot  down. I told him that he must pick a book that he actually reads. About 30 minutes later, Jax walked into the kitchen announced his new selection: "I have picked The Bible, and I want my pumpkin to be Jesus." Well, how do you argue with that request?? Banana Bedhead....

I'm sure that Paul Mitchell would be very interested in this new hairstyle that Jax modeled last night. I've known for quite some time that Jax is pretty smart. Now I think that it's obvious that he will also be very fashion savvy. After eating his entire bowl of Spaghetti-o ravioli, I cut up some bananas for him to eat. By the way, we've mastered this new way of eating...2 forks!! While he's feeding himself with one, I'm getting the other fork loaded up with the next bite. He would get a little stingy and refuse (okay, throw a fit) to hand back the fork. So problem solved = 2 forks!! Anyway, he gets pretty sticky when eating bananas because they obviously don't slide on the fork too well. So he uses his fingers. Naturally, the perfect place to wipe your hands when you don't have a shirt is in your hair. Plus fruit is good for you, so it must be good for your hair. Jax's 3 1/2 year old birthday party

Yes, we love half birthdays! When you have a birthday too close to Christmas, it is so fun to celebrate a half birthday in the summer. Besides that, Lisa died the day before his birthday. Not an easy time for our family. My mom did this with me too...since I was a December baby..I sometimes had half birthday celebrations instead. Jax was very specific about his requests...he wanted a Rocky party...with Rocky and the Russian fighting on top of the cake. However, there was not enough room for both. Megan Lucius made the cake! I made the cookies...Lightning Bolt cookies..."When you eat lightning..." We had a poster printed up for a game...prizes were awarded based on which person caused the water balloon to break. It started storming in the middle of the party...all the kids came in for ice cream and cake. They watched Toy Story 2.(June 13, 2010)
