So we went to Jackson for the wedding this weekend. Everything was so nice! Friday we had rehearsal and rehearsal dinner at the Capitol Club. Then we all went back to Wes and Jaime's for the night. Saturday, the guys spent the day together. I went to the mall, all by myself, which was so nice!! Then Jaime and I went to Hooter's for lunch. Then we went in the POURING down rain to Bop's for dessert. I got this strawberry shortcake custard . . . it was heavenly!! I am so glad that it is 3 hours away from me, or I would be gaining way too much weight. The wedding started at 7:00, then the reception was at the Old Captiol Inn. We all went back to Taylor's house after the wedding. Somehow, we managed to get up early Sunday and rush home to see Jax. We cooked on the grill, B & Amy Lauren and their kids came over! Then we took Gee to the airport and picked up my parents who just returned from a very long trip to Wyoming. Well, it seemed really long to me anyway. So it has been a very busy weekend!

Sidenote: We got a little carried away this weekend, but I think Troy started it! We decided to do some "senior picture" poses. Of course, I was pregnant in mine and Troy was smoking a cigarette in his . . . but we still had fun with it. Gee said it was "very American" of us to do that. So here are a few of our senior poses . . . Jaime has the rest on her camera.

Moses the Pumpkin

For a school pumpkin parade project, Jax has to come up with a character from a book that he enjoys reading. Then we had to decorate the pumpkin like that character. I made a couple of suggestions (Pete the Cat, Captain Flynn and the Pirate Dinosaurs), which Jax immediately shot down. He picked a book from our bookcase about ghosts of Mississippi which I immediately shot  down. I told him that he must pick a book that he actually reads. About 30 minutes later, Jax walked into the kitchen announced his new selection: "I have picked The Bible, and I want my pumpkin to be Jesus." Well, how do you argue with that request?? However, I could not imagine how in the world we could accomplish such a thing. John and Jax took off to Walmart to look for some Jesus hair. Banana Bedhead....

I'm sure that Paul Mitchell would be very interested in this new hairstyle that Jax modeled last night. I've known for quite some time that Jax is pretty smart. Now I think that it's obvious that he will also be very fashion savvy. After eating his entire bowl of Spaghetti-o ravioli, I cut up some bananas for him to eat. By the way, we've mastered this new way of eating...2 forks!! While he's feeding himself with one, I'm getting the other fork loaded up with the next bite. He would get a little stingy and refuse (okay, throw a fit) to hand back the fork. So problem solved = 2 forks!! Anyway, he gets pretty sticky when eating bananas because they obviously don't slide on the fork too well. So he uses his fingers. Naturally, the perfect place to wipe your hands when you don't have a shirt is in your hair. Plus fruit is good for you, so it must be good for your hair. Jax's 3 1/2 year old birthday party

Yes, we love half birthdays! When you have a birthday too close to Christmas, it is so fun to celebrate a half birthday in the summer. Besides that, Lisa died the day before his birthday. Not an easy time for our family. My mom did this with me too...since I was a December baby..I sometimes had half birthday celebrations instead. Jax was very specific about his requests...he wanted a Rocky party...with Rocky and the Russian fighting on top of the cake. However, there was not enough room for both. Megan Lucius made the cake! I made the cookies...Lightning Bolt cookies..."When you eat lightning..." We had a poster printed up for a game...prizes were awarded based on which person caused the water balloon to break. It started storming in the middle of the party...all the kids came in for ice cream and cake. They watched Toy Story 2.(June 13, 2010)
