1 More Day of Just Jax

Well, I've shopped and walked all day today! I bought Jax some really cute clothes at Gymboree. He was very excited to see his loot when I got home! I've been to Target, Saddle Creek mall, Wolfechase Galleria, Steak Escape with John and Aaron, Gymboree, Babies R Us, the granite store . . . I guess I was enjoying my last day out of the house for a little while.

My appointment was good. The doctor stripped my membranes and I can definitely tell that has done something!! We are scheduled to go in tomorrow morning at 6:00 a.m. So wish us luck and say a prayer that everything will go smoothly!

This afternoon, I took Jax on a long ride on Big Red. We sang, and he really tried to help me sing the Alphabet song and Doe a Dear. It was so sweet. He also patted on my belly and gave it a kiss one last time. I know he doesn't really understand it, but it just melted my heart. Tonight, when it was time to put him to bed, I was an emotional wreck. I couldn't help but cry. I'm so excited to give Jax a brother and to meet the new member of our family. But at the same time, I know that these wonderful 20 months that we've been all about JUST JAX have come to an end. It will be a wondeful happy day tomorrow, but also sad in saying goodbye to Just Jax.

Moses the Pumpkin

For a school pumpkin parade project, Jax has to come up with a character from a book that he enjoys reading. Then we had to decorate the pumpkin like that character. I made a couple of suggestions (Pete the Cat, Captain Flynn and the Pirate Dinosaurs), which Jax immediately shot down. He picked a book from our bookcase about ghosts of Mississippi which I immediately shot  down. I told him that he must pick a book that he actually reads. About 30 minutes later, Jax walked into the kitchen announced his new selection: "I have picked The Bible, and I want my pumpkin to be Jesus." Well, how do you argue with that request?? However, I could not imagine how in the world we could accomplish such a thing. John and Jax took off to Walmart to look for some Jesus hair. Banana Bedhead....

I'm sure that Paul Mitchell would be very interested in this new hairstyle that Jax modeled last night. I've known for quite some time that Jax is pretty smart. Now I think that it's obvious that he will also be very fashion savvy. After eating his entire bowl of Spaghetti-o ravioli, I cut up some bananas for him to eat. By the way, we've mastered this new way of eating...2 forks!! While he's feeding himself with one, I'm getting the other fork loaded up with the next bite. He would get a little stingy and refuse (okay, throw a fit) to hand back the fork. So problem solved = 2 forks!! Anyway, he gets pretty sticky when eating bananas because they obviously don't slide on the fork too well. So he uses his fingers. Naturally, the perfect place to wipe your hands when you don't have a shirt is in your hair. Plus fruit is good for you, so it must be good for your hair. Never Say Never!!! :)

I'm so proud to say that I made it one whole day without opening the envelope. LOL!!! John and I took Jax to the zoo yesterday. We were talking about the ultrasound on the way there, and John finally admitted that he REALLY did see the screen when we weren't supposed to look. He SAYS he didn't mean to, and that he thought she was finished. But, he said that the screen was zoomed in and he saw boy parts! So I ripped the envelope open as soon as we got home for our early-not so surprise- surprise . . . and here is what we saw. Anyway, I'll probably have to ban John for going in the ultrasound on number 3 now. Any volunteers to take his place??? I didn't really have any expectations about gender this time around . . . but I will admit that I'm hoping the third will be a girl!!! I think it's fun that Jax will have a brother to grow up with.
