Boo Who? It's Jax as Pooh

We took Jax to trunk or treat at our church Saturday night. He had fun. We had a small disaster before hand . . . John was making up his face so he could be a werewolf. Wait - not just any werewolf - Teen Wolf (or I guess it would be pre-teen wolf in this case. I don't know what we were thinking. What 2 year old will sit still for makeup??? Certainly not Jax. Somewhere between the spirit glue being applied to his face and the 2 attempts to stick hair to it - we gave up! Of course, it wouldn't be so easy to just change costumes because the paint had bonded to the spirit glue and stained his face. We used facial soap, peroxide, warm water, cotton balls, and cloths to get it off. Well most of it anyway - so he was Winnie the Pooh instead. Ronin will be 6 weeks Wednesday! He is just a doll. I need to post a comparison but he looks a lot like Jax at 5 wks. There is also a picture I put on here of Jax holding Ro. He holds out his hands and says "PEEEEEASE" - I, of course, am holding him too though.

Jax definitely makes a cute Pooh, although he doesn't look to happy about it. What is Ronin going to be for Halloween?

No - he was not smiling and silly that night like usual. It was his bedtime, and I think he was being super observant of everything around him. He didn't know what to think about us walking through the dark woods, or seeing all the kids in their costumes! Ronin has a pea in the pod costume.

Moses the Pumpkin

For a school pumpkin parade project, Jax has to come up with a character from a book that he enjoys reading. Then we had to decorate the pumpkin like that character. I made a couple of suggestions (Pete the Cat, Captain Flynn and the Pirate Dinosaurs), which Jax immediately shot down. He picked a book from our bookcase about ghosts of Mississippi which I immediately shot  down. I told him that he must pick a book that he actually reads. About 30 minutes later, Jax walked into the kitchen announced his new selection: "I have picked The Bible, and I want my pumpkin to be Jesus." Well, how do you argue with that request?? However, I could not imagine how in the world we could accomplish such a thing. John and Jax took off to Walmart to look for some Jesus hair. Banana Bedhead....

I'm sure that Paul Mitchell would be very interested in this new hairstyle that Jax modeled last night. I've known for quite some time that Jax is pretty smart. Now I think that it's obvious that he will also be very fashion savvy. After eating his entire bowl of Spaghetti-o ravioli, I cut up some bananas for him to eat. By the way, we've mastered this new way of eating...2 forks!! While he's feeding himself with one, I'm getting the other fork loaded up with the next bite. He would get a little stingy and refuse (okay, throw a fit) to hand back the fork. So problem solved = 2 forks!! Anyway, he gets pretty sticky when eating bananas because they obviously don't slide on the fork too well. So he uses his fingers. Naturally, the perfect place to wipe your hands when you don't have a shirt is in your hair. Plus fruit is good for you, so it must be good for your hair. Never Say Never!!! :)

I'm so proud to say that I made it one whole day without opening the envelope. LOL!!! John and I took Jax to the zoo yesterday. We were talking about the ultrasound on the way there, and John finally admitted that he REALLY did see the screen when we weren't supposed to look. He SAYS he didn't mean to, and that he thought she was finished. But, he said that the screen was zoomed in and he saw boy parts! So I ripped the envelope open as soon as we got home for our early-not so surprise- surprise . . . and here is what we saw. Anyway, I'll probably have to ban John for going in the ultrasound on number 3 now. Any volunteers to take his place??? I didn't really have any expectations about gender this time around . . . but I will admit that I'm hoping the third will be a girl!!! I think it's fun that Jax will have a brother to grow up with.
