Growing Ronin!

Ro's had a lot of firsts!!!

Ronin started rolling in December. I can hardly believe it because he's rarely laying down when he's not swadled. That boy loves to be wrapped up. But he breaks free from it a lot more now. I've got to catch it on video!



He also started holding toys and really noticing his hands. Sometimes he'll just stare at them. Most of the time he tries to eat them. This results in him being covered in drool. I wouldn't be surprised if a tooth pops through pretty soon.



He also took his pacifier out of his mouth and put it back in a few times. Most of the time he just takes it out so he can put his fingers or fist in instead. He's may be teething with all of his drooling and hand sucking he does! He's even made a hickey on his hand!



He also started eating cereal, and did quite well. I will start him on veggies next week after his 4 month appt.



And he's been getting in his jumper and bumbo too!



I've got to add a laughing video on here for you. This is the happiest baby. He will smile for almost anyone and laughs at everything! He gets tickled so easily. There are so many times that he will be laughing while I am just changing his clothes or diaper. It's too cute. And he has the biggest gummy smile I've ever seen! Sorry it's sideways!



He's still pretty much exclusively breastfeeding. I think he got one or two bottles of formula while I was off on Christmas break. And I'm back to pumping at work again. He still is a really good sleeper. He sleeps in his crib....sometimes all night, and sometimes not. It just depends on how well he ate at his last feeding. His last feeding is usually around 9:00 and he'll wake up around either 3 or 5 for a feeding. He always goes right back to sleep ... and me too.

What a cutie Ronin is!!! His video is just precious. He looks like he is such an easy baby! Congrats on such a beautiful family.

Moses the Pumpkin

For a school pumpkin parade project, Jax has to come up with a character from a book that he enjoys reading. Then we had to decorate the pumpkin like that character. I made a couple of suggestions (Pete the Cat, Captain Flynn and the Pirate Dinosaurs), which Jax immediately shot down. He picked a book from our bookcase about ghosts of Mississippi which I immediately shot  down. I told him that he must pick a book that he actually reads. About 30 minutes later, Jax walked into the kitchen announced his new selection: "I have picked The Bible, and I want my pumpkin to be Jesus." Well, how do you argue with that request?? Banana Bedhead....

I'm sure that Paul Mitchell would be very interested in this new hairstyle that Jax modeled last night. I've known for quite some time that Jax is pretty smart. Now I think that it's obvious that he will also be very fashion savvy. After eating his entire bowl of Spaghetti-o ravioli, I cut up some bananas for him to eat. By the way, we've mastered this new way of eating...2 forks!! While he's feeding himself with one, I'm getting the other fork loaded up with the next bite. He would get a little stingy and refuse (okay, throw a fit) to hand back the fork. So problem solved = 2 forks!! Anyway, he gets pretty sticky when eating bananas because they obviously don't slide on the fork too well. So he uses his fingers. Naturally, the perfect place to wipe your hands when you don't have a shirt is in your hair. Plus fruit is good for you, so it must be good for your hair. Jax's 3 1/2 year old birthday party

Yes, we love half birthdays! When you have a birthday too close to Christmas, it is so fun to celebrate a half birthday in the summer. Besides that, Lisa died the day before his birthday. Not an easy time for our family. My mom did this with me too...since I was a December baby..I sometimes had half birthday celebrations instead. Jax was very specific about his requests...he wanted a Rocky party...with Rocky and the Russian fighting on top of the cake. However, there was not enough room for both. Megan Lucius made the cake! I made the cookies...Lightning Bolt cookies..."When you eat lightning..." We had a poster printed up for a game...prizes were awarded based on which person caused the water balloon to break. It started storming in the middle of the party...all the kids came in for ice cream and cake. They watched Toy Story 2.(June 13, 2010)
