The swamp is gone!

This weekend we finally got our liner replaced in the pool. It is full of cold, but clear water now. Yay!

It was no easy task. I kept reminding myself of how I thought John and I could do this on our own. Ha! I will NEVER try it.

Friday would have been Lisa's 43rd birthday. The family all got together at Arkabutla lake for a picnic and some family time. It was really special, and I love all of my family! I am so glad that none of us had to be alone at this time of remembering her.

Jax - He pulled down his pants and peed in the grass twice while we were there. I tried to explain how we don't want to let other people see our private areas...but he said, "momma, i just tee-tee'd in the wass (grass), not in my pants." He was proud, so I let it go. Like he said, it wasn't in his pants.


John, Zach, Jax, and I went on a nature walk. It was very pretty and smelled of honeyscukle ... one of my favorite things! I do think I can jostle this baby out of my belly early if I do that kind of walk very often!

Jax got an iron man mask at Target on Sunday. He got a lot of laughs wearing this through the store!


It was a nice weekend! The more I work these days, the more I appreciate time at home with my family. It was really nice to spend the day with John, Jax and Ronin on Sunday. We ate at Wimpy's Burgers for the first time, and it was good! Then we did our shopping trip at Target. I somehow took no pictures of myself with my kids this weekend...imagine that! I am always the one behind the camera.

For a school pumpkin parade project, Jax has to come up with a character from a book that he enjoys reading. Then we had to decorate the pumpkin like that character. I made a couple of suggestions (Pete the Cat, Captain Flynn and the Pirate Dinosaurs), which Jax immediately shot down. He picked a book from our bookcase about ghosts of Mississippi which I immediately shot  down. I told him that he must pick a book that he actually reads. Banana Bedhead....

I'm sure that Paul Mitchell would be very interested in this new hairstyle that Jax modeled last night. I've known for quite some time that Jax is pretty smart. Now I think that it's obvious that he will also be very fashion savvy. After eating his entire bowl of Spaghetti-o ravioli, I cut up some bananas for him to eat. By the way, we've mastered this new way of eating...2 forks!! While he's feeding himself with one, I'm getting the other fork loaded up with the next bite. He would get a little stingy and refuse (okay, throw a fit) to hand back the fork. So problem solved = 2 forks!! Anyway, he gets pretty sticky when eating bananas because they obviously don't slide on the fork too well. So he uses his fingers. Naturally, the perfect place to wipe your hands when you don't have a shirt is in your hair. Plus fruit is good for you, so it must be good for your hair. Jax's 3 1/2 year old birthday party

Yes, we love half birthdays! When you have a birthday too close to Christmas, it is so fun to celebrate a half birthday in the summer. Besides that, Lisa died the day before his birthday. Not an easy time for our family. My mom did this with me too...since I was a December baby..I sometimes had half birthday celebrations instead. Jax was very specific about his requests...he wanted a Rocky party...with Rocky and the Russian fighting on top of the cake. However, there was not enough room for both. Megan Lucius made the cake! I made the cookies...Lightning Bolt cookies..."When you eat lightning..." We had a poster printed up for a game...prizes were awarded based on which person caused the water balloon to break. It started storming in the middle of the party...all the kids came in for ice cream and cake. They watched Toy Story 2.(June 13, 2010)
