Snow

Since it's too overwhelming to try and do all the blogs that should have been posted the last few months, I'll just have to start with the recent stuff. I am a little busy... and my blog has suffered for sure!


So I will start with the snow! We had a wonderful time playing in the snow! It started snowing on Jax's fourth birthday! We were thrilled, but it definitely messed up our plans. Everyone who knows me well would not be surprised that I started freaking out and canceled our plans at the thought of getting stranded in the snow away from our children! We were taking Jax to Southaven to Chucky Cheese and going to see a movie...just me, John, and Jax. We ended up at Walmart buying groceries and the roads were already getting slick when we left. We got about 6 inches of snow.

These gloves are a nightmare to keep on!

We had a blast on this! I think John was trying to throw Wendy and me off in the gully...I should have known better than to let him pull us with no kids!

The sled on the right was fun! We all (including my Dad) rode it down the hill at David and Linda's.

Yea! So glad you're back in the blogging world!!! I miss seeing pictures of your precious boys! They are getting so big and handsome! Gunnar is looking more and more like Jax everyday! We better see y'all soon!

Moses the Pumpkin

For a school pumpkin parade project, Jax has to come up with a character from a book that he enjoys reading. Then we had to decorate the pumpkin like that character. I made a couple of suggestions (Pete the Cat, Captain Flynn and the Pirate Dinosaurs), which Jax immediately shot down. He picked a book from our bookcase about ghosts of Mississippi which I immediately shot  down. I told him that he must pick a book that he actually reads. About 30 minutes later, Jax walked into the kitchen announced his new selection: "I have picked The Bible, and I want my pumpkin to be Jesus." Well, how do you argue with that request?? However, I could not imagine how in the world we could accomplish such a thing. John and Jax took off to Walmart to look for some Jesus hair. Banana Bedhead....

I'm sure that Paul Mitchell would be very interested in this new hairstyle that Jax modeled last night. I've known for quite some time that Jax is pretty smart. Now I think that it's obvious that he will also be very fashion savvy. After eating his entire bowl of Spaghetti-o ravioli, I cut up some bananas for him to eat. By the way, we've mastered this new way of eating...2 forks!! While he's feeding himself with one, I'm getting the other fork loaded up with the next bite. He would get a little stingy and refuse (okay, throw a fit) to hand back the fork. So problem solved = 2 forks!! Anyway, he gets pretty sticky when eating bananas because they obviously don't slide on the fork too well. So he uses his fingers. Naturally, the perfect place to wipe your hands when you don't have a shirt is in your hair. Plus fruit is good for you, so it must be good for your hair. Jax's 3 1/2 year old birthday party

Yes, we love half birthdays! When you have a birthday too close to Christmas, it is so fun to celebrate a half birthday in the summer. Besides that, Lisa died the day before his birthday. Not an easy time for our family. My mom did this with me too...since I was a December baby..I sometimes had half birthday celebrations instead. Jax was very specific about his requests...he wanted a Rocky party...with Rocky and the Russian fighting on top of the cake. However, there was not enough room for both. Megan Lucius made the cake! I made the cookies...Lightning Bolt cookies..."When you eat lightning..." We had a poster printed up for a game...prizes were awarded based on which person caused the water balloon to break. It started storming in the middle of the party...all the kids came in for ice cream and cake. They watched Toy Story 2.(June 13, 2010)
